Unfurl into the long winter days with Gemma David and Pip Roberts
January 24th – 26th 2020
Do the deep months of Winter leave you longing for a connection with your self? Do you find that in January, you are craving quiet time to connect with the stillness of this season? If so, come and unfurl with us on this weekend of retreat.
This is your invitation to gather with us in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. Your time to remember all that is tender and unique about you and this time of year. Your time to explore how it feels to move gently and in rhythm with the slow and still rhythm of Winter.
This will be your weekend to reflect, not to escape. You will be given permission to appreciate your whole self, your connection with nature and your own, beautiful, natural rhythm.
What we’ll be doing
We will be guiding you through sustainable and accessible sessions of yoga, gently guided meditations, seasonal living talks, forest bathing, sound baths and the best candlelit bedtime yoga and yoga nidra you’ll have done in a while. We are also going to offer an asana and acupuncture session – for those that wish to relax with a little session of acupuncture while in the resting pose at the end of the class.
We will meet together at the beginning of the retreat to mindfully create an intention for the weekend, and once again at the end to close. You will leave feeling rested, nourished, gently energised and reconnected to nature with a sense of what your body needs in a way you may not have felt before.
This is a retreat where you will truly want to bring the comfiest clothes you own so you can really begin to relax your inner and outer being.
Where will we be
A beautiful farm with converted barns will home us through the weekend, situated in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just 15 miles from Bristol. We will be on the side of a beautiful valley with one of the best sunset views in this area. It has its own orchard, bee hives, sheep, chickens and large vegetable garden. Much of the food served will have been grown on site.
Along with a guided forest walk, you will have access to the incredible walks. So if lying in front of the fire during the rest time doesn’t match your needs, please explore all that this beautiful part of the the world has to offer. Bring your wellies or boots as this is wild land and will be muddy – if not snowy!
Food wise we will be served plenty of seasonal, local and homegrown, organic vegetarian food (the best we’ve seen on a retreat menu), and a glass of wine if you fancy one. Food offers deep nourishment on so many levels and will be abundant during the weekend.
Where you will stay
There are a few options to choose from. The property is an old, beautiful farmhouse with a few rooms inside, plus, an enormous converted barn housing most of the bedrooms. There is also the luxury of a separate, stunning room/living space in the courtyard.
